Alcohol warning for train commuters T In The Park

T in the Park festival travel by train from the north of Scotland are being warned that alcohol is the most visited site in Balado, who is banned on trains.

British Transport Police (BTP) warned that the music festival next weekend to visit the fans will have their alcohol confiscated.

Authorities have also warned that continued abuse of someone being thrown off the train, so, or face being arrested will be.

British Transport Police Sergeant Stephen Todd said: "If you are using the train to travel to Perth please be aware that not all your fellow passengers are going to T in the Park.

"We want to ensure that everyone can travel without encountering antisocial behaviour and officers will be patrolling the affected trains. Alcohol will be confiscated and anyone indulging in behaviour that is deemed unacceptable will be dealt with appropriately.

"Alcohol will be banned on early morning trains from Wick to Inverness, and Inverness to Perth next Thursday (July 7), and also services on the morning of Friday between Inverness and Perth."

Sergeant Todd added: "This is not about BTP wishing to dampen spirits but we must ensure that anyone travelling or working on the rail network on these days can do safely and without hindrance. The appropriate notice will be given by the train operator, ScotRail."
